  4. Sole Traders and Landlords:
    • If you become a sole trader or landlord after 6 April 2026, you won’t be required to adopt Making Tax Digital immediately. However, voluntary participation is an option.
    • Upon submitting your first Self Assessment tax return, HMRC will assess your qualifying income. If it surpasses £30,000, you’ll receive instructions on when to commence using Making Tax Digital.
